I was not going to post photographs or poems from my upcoming show, but here is a sneak peak. I felt it appropriate since it is the one year anniversary of a horrific event.-S

A concrete wall bathed in deep orange; shadows of trees lay overtop.
The air is filled with smoke from a Camp Fire.
Memories come alive!
Summer camping trips - building a fire, gathering kindling for fuel, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over an open flame. Making s’mores. Keeping warm next to the campfire while listening to stories and playing cards.
The smell of the campfire laced with the fragrant pines.
The crackle and snap of the flames.
Ah memories! Ah summer! Ah Paradise!
The heavy smoke in the air produces a beautiful filtered light, creating the mural adorning this concrete facade.
Alas, this heavy smoke is from another type of fire burning miles and miles away. This campfire is from another Paradise – a town that is no more. Ah Paradise.
